Internet Marketing – The Firesale and the Final Insult

Okay, so who else has seen the trendy firesale offer drop into their inbox recently?

Let’s recap the offer.

“Hi there, I’m Guru X and I’m semi-retiring from the business I bigged-up in a thousand emails to you in the past so I can use all the cash you sent me to move onto greater things! BUT – I’ll still be releasing the odd mega-product now and again so stayed tuned! And boy oh boy, do I have a Pile of Crap to offer you today! All in one big steaming bundle!

Where’s Your Web Site Gone?

You know that site I was launching last week? Tell me about it.

The day job intruded, I sort of lost momentum, then I went round a few loops thinking about changing the approach, making it bigger, better, bolder. Basically losing the plot.

The Video Boss Strikes Again!

Andy Jenkins is very, very good at what he does. He’s managed to get me thinking long and hard about video, something I hadn’t intended to get involved with.

Now video is high on my to-do list, especially for the new web site that I should have launched last week but is still in development. More about that in a later post.

How To Shoot a Compelling and Entertaining Marketing Video

I came across the following, this morning. I was still in coffee mode so I fired it up just out of curiosity. I’m glad I did.

Video Gets More Money Than Anything

Video is something I’ll definitely be getting acquainted with in the near future. I agree with the presenter, no video no interest is just around the corner.

Jim Cockrum – Calm Within the Storm

I like Jim Cockrum. He’s one of the ‘gurus’ I’ve been following (but unfortunately not applying) since day one. I say guru because he’s highly successful and genuinely knows his stuff, yet he tends to avoid the pre-launch feeding frenzies and super-affiliate shilling.

And he doesn’t flood your mail box on a daily basis.

New to Internet Marketing? You MUST do this!

If you are new to Internet marketing then you are almost certainly swimming (drowning?) in a sea of conflicting information, product pitches, advice that inevitably leads to offers you can’t refuse and free offers for old systems and methods that have long since passed sell by date. It’s a deluge and it’s called information overload.

Internet Marketers – Not the Good or Bad, Just the Downright Ugly

I have a lot of respect for some of the ‘good’ Internet marketers out there, especially the ones telling you that building a business takes effort and there’s no such thing (outside of blind luck) as a free lunch.

Then there are the ‘bad’ (meaning unskilled, not evil) marketers just starting out who make mistakes, I’m sure I’ll be one of them myself. These mistakes are made out of ignorance, not malice and I write that sort of stuff off as no (serious) harm, no foul.

But there are at least a few ‘ugly’ (very ugly) Internet marketers who have been in this game for a while now yet they still use tactics that harm the very people they claim they are so keen to help.

Keep It Simple Stupid

Internet Marketing is an absolute minefield. That’s the conclusion I’ve reached a week after getting involved. You can spend a fortune in this business but what are the real chances of actually making some cash? Slim, I think. Unless you have a system and you stick to it. And unless you keep it simple, at least in the beginning.

The trouble is, when you are first starting out you have about a million systems to choose from and you simply don’t have the experience to separate the realistic from the fanciful. Yeah sure, one person might have hit on a winning formula. But how much of the success was down to circumstances rather than the method? How can you tell when all you are getting from the marketer now selling this “magic” system is a whole bunch of sales pitch?

This is bound to lead to many a false start. Boy have I had a couple of those this week!

NicheBluePrint 2.0 – First Impressions

In my last post I explained how I’d bet the farm and signed up for the two latest, “next best things”, in Internet Marketing, NicheBluePrint 2.0 and The Magic Bullet System. If you haven’t heard of these products over the last few weeks are you sure you’re really involved involved in Internet Marketing?

Both products have been pushed relentlessly by the super affiliates, both products do very different things and I’ll start out by giving my FIRST impressions of NicheBluePrint 2.0 from Tim Godfrey and Steve Clayton.

Remember, the product was just launched today so this is by no means a complete review because I only had a chance to nose around and follow 10-12 of the initial videos and PDFs – and you get a LOT of material! Also, these are MY opinions and always bear in mind I’m a first time Internet Marketer. But first impressions count so here goes.

Automation, Automation, Automation

Today I’ve made possibly the craziest decision I’ll ever make in this business. A newbie mistake of epic proportions or a smart move along the fast track? Only time will tell.

I did say that I’d be building a business from scratch without investing a pile of cash, and I still intend to do that, but in a distinct strand of my business plan. But let’s just say I’ve started a mega split test.
