			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you are new to Internet marketing then you are almost certainly swimming (drowning?) in a sea of conflicting information, product pitches, advice that inevitably leads to offers you can&#8217;t refuse and free offers for old systems and methods that have long since passed sell by date. It&#8217;s a deluge and it&#8217;s called information overload.<br />

When first starting out it&#8217;s natural to try to find out as much about the industry as possible. But there comes a point where you have to filter the value from the trash and, in my experience, 90% of the stuff that has landed in my mailbox so far has been garbage.</p>
<p>A couple of days ago I un-subscribed from almost all of the lists I had signed up to in the hope of discovering how to go about making some money in this business.</p>
<p>Let me tell you &#8211; sheer bliss!</p>
<p>Well, in most cases because a few of the more persistent senders don&#8217;t take no for an answer, so they go straight into my spam folder now.</p>
<p>I have read enough, watched enough and been tricked enough by now to get a good idea about the industry I&#8217;m in. However, a few sources (four to be precise) have been worth keeping and here&#8217;s why.</p>
<p>They are realistic. None of them talk about making millions online, instead they discuss proper business methods designed to grow your income slowly and steadily and in a sustainable manner.</p>
<p>Now stop for a minute and think about it. What&#8217;s more likely? That you&#8217;ll make a million dollars without any effort or that building a real business takes time and effort?</p>
<p>So scrub the guys selling you the easy ride. They are taking your money just to waste your time. And if you are serious about business you already know that time is money and you can&#8217;t afford to waste it. Delete, delete, delete.</p>
<p>How about the guys selling continuity programs that will keep you updated with all the latest fads and trends? Well, if you don&#8217;t even have a simple business set up yet that&#8217;s making money, what need is there to worry about refining that non-existent business?</p>
<p>Get the basics sorted first. Delete, delete, delete the continuity guys. You don&#8217;t need them right now.</p>
<p>Another hook is the &#8220;How to&#8221; continuity program where you keep on paying, weekly or monthly, whilst a method is drip-revealed. You don&#8217;t need this either! There are perfectly good programs out there that&#8217;ll tell all in one hit and for one payment. Again, why waste time? Delete these tease subscriptions, you want to MAKE money every month not spend it!</p>
<p>As for the big ticket items &#8211; as a new marketer DON&#8217;T FALL FOR THESE! They are out of your league. They will make assumptions and discuss things that you know nothing about and have no experience with.</p>
<p>No matter how much they claim otherwise these programs are not for you. Again, think about it. If such programs are really the no-brainer route to instant riches then why does anyone, anywhere have a day job? Don&#8217;t you think this amazing information would get around and everyone would be doing it?</p>
<p>Ladies, gents, the fact is Internet marketing IS difficult for the newcomer. But only because you get dragged in some many directions. You have to cut the information overload at source by un-subscribing from every single list except the very few you can actually apply common sense to and find value in.</p>
<p>Common sense, why does it go out the window when you enter this game? Get it back, as fast as you can. And if you are designing your own products and are pitching that famous line, &#8220;I want to see you succeed!&#8221;, make sure you live up to it by presenting something realistic and of value to your customer. This is the basis of all good business anyway.</p>
<p>I mentioned four marketers that I&#8217;m sticking with. First up is the infinitely amiable Brian Johnson. I started out with Brian, ignored what he had to say, got suckered into a hundred other schemes and finally figured out Brian had it right all along. Google him, you won&#8217;t see all the flashy headlines but you will discover his tried, tested and demonstrable method to making a little money here, a little there and a little everywhere.</p>
<p>In the end and over time and with the suitable effort you&#8217;ll have enough money. Then the rest of this world opens up to you.</p>
<p>I won&#8217;t give links or try to sell you a product, start as you mean to go on from today &#8211; do the leg work!</p>
<p>More free recommendations tomorrow based on my actual experience.</p>
<p>And don&#8217;t forget &#8211; hit the un-subscribe link for every one and everything that can&#8217;t help you, right now, today or doesn&#8217;t pass the common sense test. You&#8217;ll be amazed at how quickly you recover your senses.</p>

<p>Chris is right. There&#8217;s no guru anywhere that&#8217;s going to get on a plane, knock on your door and come into the house and do this for you. Eventually, everyone has to work if they want the rewards. So I&#8217;m taking my ass-whipping from Chris in the proper spirit and I&#8217;m getting down to solid work.<br />

I say this because one thing I noticed about today was that having signed up for two major programs yesterday my impetus has taken a hit. I&#8217;ve spent so much time checking out intro videos and way cool tools that I&#8217;ve forgotten I&#8217;m not actually making any money online right now. I&#8217;ve sure spent a lot though.</p>
<p>At the moment I&#8217;m a customer, not an Internet Marketer. And I&#8217;m burning out on information overload. These are the classic early mistakes, right? And it&#8217;s strange because I signed up for tools that were going to do the whole job for me and yet I&#8217;ve blown a day dealing with log-ins and figuring out interfaces and watching videos when I could have been improving my woeful sales funnel or building a few back links. Who&#8217;s this hurting most?</p>
<p>Tomorrow (in fact today, because it&#8217;s already gone midnight) I&#8217;m back in the saddle and pushing on. I&#8217;ll have a freebie product, proper sales page, auto-responder sequence and a syndicated campaign to drive traffic by the end of this week or my name&#8217;s not, <em>&#8220;The Guy Who Just Got Kicked in the Ar*e by Chris Rempel&#8221;</em>.</p>
